Now in our 8th year we are delighted to have a record amount of diverse cultural organisations transforming Dublin by night! To celebrate Culture Night a specially commissioned fanfare will be premiered by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in Meeting House Square and broadcast live on Arena, RTÉ Radio 1.
Culture Night is a unique night in the Irish calendar where you can experience the myriad of cultural possibilities your city has to offer for free, even on the move, with performances taking place on Dublin Buses and Trams throughout the city! This year we have also introduced the ‘Family Culture Trail’ and just like all of the venues open on Culture Night, this trail is here to be enjoyed beyond Culture Night itself. So hold on to this programme and use it as a guide to explore, experience and enjoy on and beyond September 20th 2013.
I would like to pay tribute to all the TBCT staff – past and present – associated with Culture Night for their remarkable stewardship of this unique event and would particularly like to thank all of my colleagues in the Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht for their hard work on the event this year.
More than 190 organisations and 32 regions will showcase Ireland’s unique cultural life on Friday September 20th. As always all ages are welcome to visit, engage and celebrate Culture Night with us.
