‘Round the House and Mind the Dresser  6.00pm –10.00pm

This exciting travelling exhibition, on loan from Cavan County Museum, gives visitors an opportunity to learn more about the story of Irish Traditional Music, Song and Dance, from the 1700’s until the present day. A section of the Exhibition space showcases the history of the tradition in Donegal.

Regarded worldwide as a vibrant example of a ‘living’ tradition, its journey from its humble roots in the homes of rural Ireland to its international influences today defines it as an animated and evolving cultural phenomenon.   The exhibition uses historic and contemporary photographs and texts to tell this story along with displays of the instruments and other items associated with the tradition.

Especially for Culture Night, the exhibition will be suitably animated by a session with members of the Letterkenny branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí éireann, commencing at 8.00pm.

Landmarks

Landmarks is a participatory, international art project organised by the Inishowen-based North-55 visual art initiative.
