Presenting a packed night of the arts in the suburb of culture!
At 4 p.m. we will be having a talk at the Centre by Jimmy Murphy, playwright, whose brand-new play The Hen Night Epiphany opened this week at the Focus Theatre. The play will move to Ranelagh Multidenominational School for one night only on the Saturday following Culture Night, the 24th.
At 5 pm there will be live music on The Triangle in Ranelagh to entertain weary commuters.
At 6 pm we’re showing “The Beholder”, Conor Horgan’s incisive study of three Irish portraitists. The director will be in attendance.
At 8 pm, author, barrister and historian Ronan Sheehan will speak on “Colmcille and the Irish Copyright Tradition”.
At 9 pm the action moves to Humphrey’s Pub of Ranelagh, where Ciaran Tourish of Altan and friends will play traditional music until late.
Throughout the day, there are also two exhibitions in Ranelagh Arts Centre: our first-ever Emerging Artists Show, alongside a one night only show of rare antique radios.
