Inspired by the legend of the "selkies" — magical beings who live as seals in water and humans on land, this captivating animated film from the director of the Academy-Award-nominated The Secret of Kells.

Song of the Sea is a magical adventure steeped in the wondrous worlds of Irish myth. Young Ben and his little sister Saoirse live with their widower father in a lighthouse by the sea. When the silent Saoirse, who at six years old has yet to utter a single word, discovers a shell flute that used to belong to their mother, the spellbinding music she creates unlocks a magical secret locked deep in their mother's past. Ben soon realizes that his sister holds the power to bring that magic to life once again — but to do so, she needs to find her voice, and he needs to overcome his deepest fears.

10pm – Paul Simon Under African Skies (Cinema)

Duration: 108mins | Cert: Club | Language: English | Dir: Joe Berlinger | USA, South Africa | 2012

Featuring: Paul Simon, Maya Angelou, Peter Gabriel, Harry Belafonte

Paul Simon’s Grammy Award-winning album Graceland – an irresistible and ground-breaking fusion of American and South African pop music — was an immediate hit when it was released in 1986. It also proved to be a lightning rod for controversy, after South African leaders protested that Simon had broken the cultural boycott of the nation’s oppressively racist apartheid regime.

In the documentary Under African Skies, Simon returns to South Africa, which formally ended apartheid in 1994 — 25 years after Graceland‘s release. Director Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory) follows Simon as he reunites with his South African collaborators, and revisits the controversy the album caused, while luminaries like Oprah Winfrey, Quincy Jones, Lorne Michaels, David Bryne and Sir Paul McCartney share their thoughts on what the album meant to them.
