This is our third year celebrating Culture Night at Tower Records, Dawson Street and we are delighted to announce an evening of fantastic and diverse live music events.

At 6pm, we will welcome Black Bank Folk and their gorgeous folk musings back to Tower Records. Their first performance with us took place back in April as part of Record Store Day where they thrilled the audience with tracks from their brilliant debut album, ‘Rising’. The album delves into the human stories of the 1916 Rising. It explores themes of suppression, love, bravery, disillusionment and the realisations of shifting realities for all those affected by the fight. On Culture Night, Black Bank Folk return to the Tower stage to perform songs from their critically acclaimed record and we can’t wait!

At 6.45pm, we’re thrilled to announce the enigmatic Booka Brass Band will take to the stage, for their very first in-store performance at Tower Records. To further our excitement, they will release their highly anticipated debut album ‘Chilled Milk’ in Tower Records on Culture Night. This New Orleans style eight- piece band have previously brought the party to Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Other Voices and Body & Soul with excellent covers from Beyoncé (‘Crazy in Love’) and Jason Derulo (‘Talk Dirty’) and we’re super excited to see them bring their infectious buzz to Dawson Street. Copies of the long awaited and hotly tipped debut album, ‘Chilled Milk’ will be available to purchase at the event also.

Culture Night Ireland takes place on September 16th 2016. All events are free and all performances in Tower Records are all ages.
